Wendy Schaal was born in 1954 in Chicago. She is the daughter of actor Richard Schaal and at one time was the step-daughter of actress Valerie Harper. Wendy, who currently lives in Los Angeles started her career at the age of 22 as an actress.

Since then she has either acted or done voice-over in approximately fifty eight TV shows and movies. She has mostly co-stared with actor Robert Picardo doing both comic as well as dramatic roles. Her prominent movies include Small Soldiers, My Girl 2, Innerspace, Where The Boys Are, and Bound For Glory etc. On TV she did shows such as Six Feet Under, Murder She Wrote, Friends, Star Treck: Voyager, The X-Files, and Fatal Vision etc.

Role In American Dad

In American Dad, she has done the voice over for the character of Francine. She is the party loving wife of Stan Smith, but has hidden this aspect of her personality from her husband, who is quite traditional in his ways. As the show progresses, she becomes more and more desperate to revive the romance in their marriage.
