Seth MacFarlane was born in 1973 to Ann Perry and Ronald Milton MacFarlane. During his early childhood he developed an interest for drawing and when he was eight years old, his comic strip Walter Crouton appeared in The Kent Good Times Dispatch. He did his schooling from Kent School and then went to Rhode Island School of Design to study animation and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. For his thesis at college, he created a film named Life of Larry. One of his professors at RISD sent his cartoon to Hanna-Barbera who hired him as an animator.

He worked shows like Johnny Bravo, Dexter’s Laboratory, and Cow and Chicken and also created a sequel to The Life of Larry named Larry and Steve. When the executives at saw MacFarlane’s work, they invited him to create a series based on the characters of his cartoon films. The show was to be called Family Guy. Since then there has been no looking back for MacFarlane. After Family Guy he made American Dad, The Winner and The Cleveland Show.

MacFarlane, who is not only a great comedian, but also an actor, animator, producer, screenwriter, voice actor and composer, has won two Emmy Awards. The first was in the year 2000 for Outstanding Voice-over Performance, and the second came two years later in 2002 for Outstanding Music and Lyrics. Both the Awards were for Family Guy.

Role In American Dad

In American Dad, he has lent his voice for Stan Smith and Roger. Stan is a dedicated CIA agent who is obsessed with protecting his beloved motherland against the evil designs of terrorists. He is also a loving family man who will go to any lengths to protect his family. On the other hand Roger is an Alien, who was rescued by Stan from Area 51. He is initially forced to hide in the attic of the family house. However, later in the show he can be seen moving out and interacting with other human beings, but always under disguise.
