Rachael MacFarlane was born and bought up in Kent. She is the younger sister of Emmy Award winner Seth MacFarlane. She graduated from Boston Conservatory Musical Theater Program. She is a voice over artist and debuted in the show Melancholy Mistress. She also worked as a production manager for the shows Billy and Mandy and Welcome to Eltingville.

In addition she also wrote an entire episode for Billy and Mandy which was titled Educating Grim. She did guest appearances in shows like Codename: Kids Next Door, The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy, Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, and Samurai Jack etc. When Seth created Family Guy, she lent her voice to many characters such as Olivia, Maid Madeline, Margot Kidder, Kate Moss and Minnie Driver. Currently she is doing the voice over for the character of Hayley in American Dad

Role In American Dad

In American Dad, she is the voice of Hayley Smith, the teenage daughter of Stan and Francine Smith. Stan is correct to think that his daughter is ultra-liberal and so makes her go through a thorough inspection after she returns from college everyday. Although he loves his little girl a lot but he does not trust her judgment on a wide range of issues.
